Travel Approval and Consulate Appointment!

The day is finally here... We found out this morning that we will be leaving next Wednesday, June 13th (yes, a week from today) to go to China! We got word from our adoption agency that we have a confirmed US Consulate appointment on June 28th where we will take an oath on Cooper's behalf for him to become a United States citizen.

So as you can imagine I have been a crazy person trying to get flights arranged and booked.  We only have to worry about getting to Beijing and getting home from Hong Kong.  Our agency takes care of all the in-country travel and hotels.  We will fly into Beijing, tour the city for a few days then we will fly to Zhengzhou where we will get Cooper! For all those not familiar with international adoption that day is called Gotcha Day! It is a day that we will celebrate every year.  It will be just as important as his birthday.  It will be a day I will never forget.  We will stay in Zhengzhou for a week or so then we fly to Guangzhou for the consulate and various other appointments.  We will be there for another week. At the end of our trip we have decided to stay a few extra days in Hong Kong.  Every year the Chinese celebrate a holiday called the Dragon Boat Festival or Duanwu Festival. So because of this if we wanted to fly home on Saturday the 30th our tickets would have been an additional $1000 each so we decided to stay a few extra days in Hong Kong.  I will post our full itinerary once we receive it from our agency.

The reason we are doing all this!

I am so excited yet so nervous! I have so much to do in the next week!
